[[ Indeed ]]

It has been a long and extremely relaxing weekend. Whoever said stress-relieving weekends require one to part with his hard-earned cash, aye?

[[ Backstreet Boys - The "Never Gone" World Tour ]]

Eat your hearts out, non-believers; I'm going for the concert!

10 years of waiting and it was all worth it.

The eardrums are still reeling and ringing from the sudden onslaught of music and screaming. The heart is still beating wildly from the adrenaline rush. And the throat is very much sore from all that screaming and singing along.

But it was all worth it. There is nothing quite like hearing and watching them live, take it from me. And I can bet you my life I will be suffering from an emotional hangover come tomorrow.

So it is true. I am in love with them all over again.

Can I travel with them then?

More here.

PS: Thank you, Shidah and Shima! The experience may not have been possible if it weren't for the two of you. 'Twas one the most intangible birthday gift in my 23 years of living!

[[ I Can Do Without People Like You ]]

And I shall not mince my words here.

I can do without people who acknowledge my presence only because they require help from me. People to whom I am, otherwise, non-existent. They are not friends or even acquaintances yet they are not the enemy. They are just there for me to tolerate.

Well, then. I have had enough of tolerating people like you, you and you. Helping you no longer gives me a feeling of satisfaction, especially when you are always demanding for more and hardly appreciate it anyway. Henceforth, I shall be uncontactable to the likes of you.

So sue me for trying to retain my sanity.

[[ Birthday Gift Part Still-Don't-Know-How-Many ]]

2 movie vouchers

It was an impromptu meet-up with The Good Friend, Azizah.

Itinerary was to drop by at the Temasek Polytechnic Open House to have a look-see at how much our alma mater had changed. What ended up as an innocent walkaround turned into a some horsing around for us as we successfully posed as students and tricked our respective juniors into convincing us to try for their course. Now, that was some fun, albeit a little cruel but hey! We got to learn more about the courses we'd graduated from. Heh.

Lunch was a treat from Azizah and thereafter, a movie treat that did not come through was replaced by the movie vouchers above.

Oooh, thank you muchness for the lovely time today, babe. I loved catching up and sharing secrets each time we meet!

[[ AJClub's Celebration of Friendship ]]

And once again, Diaryland is being a pain so here I am.

As mushy as it sounded, today has been a celebration of everything we stand for, and then some. I love my favourite boys (i.e. Jonathan and Renny) and girl (Jolene).

Us, the AJClubbers (please do not ask me what the "AJ" in "AJClub stands for because it is a hyper-sensitive issue for a certain someone who might come across this) met up for the surprise celebration of my birthday, Jonathan's farewell dinner and, as Renny would put it, "the celebration of our friendship".

Three-hour dinner at Seoul Garden, Marina Square. Talk of all things past, present and future - "You talk like as if I'm getting married next month! Discuss that later, you're stressing me out! (Jolene, when asked if we were going to be massively involved in her wedding preparations)". Endless teasing, with me being the favourite topic. Laughter at the guys' antics, especially Jonathan's take as an effeminate being. Gorgeous black dinner bag from Jolene. Walking by the Singapore river and thereafter sitting at the riverside to enjoy the tranquil Singapore scenery amidst the hustle and bustle of city life. And finally making our way home a little reluctantly for we do not know when we would be able to meet again.

Despite the sad parting, the night out was, as usual, cunning and a much-needed stress-relieving one. I love you people, you know? Especially the fact that the guys have proven once and again the possibility of having platonic friendships.

And Jonathan, this one's for you. I know I speak for all when I say that you have been a wonderful companion, a gentleman when you are not the crazy and irritating monster you intentionally are and always someone with a fresh perspective on things as well. We will miss you a lot when you are over there so you better not forget us or you will never hear the end of it. Heh. Once again, all the best in your future endeavours; we know you can make it. And come back with one damn good degree, hor?

[[ Exhaustion ]]

I am so drained these days, I cannot keep my eyes open or my brains working by the end of the day. It does not help that I have not been sleeping early due to late homecoming as a result of tuition or work, causing my dinnertime to be pushed back. Sleeping immediately afterward would cause me an indigestion so bad, it actually gives me nightmares and I would be as good as not sleeping.

As my current colleague would say, "Such a workaholic, how to get boyfriend like that?"

[[ Birthday Gift Part Three ]]

Modern-Day Red Packet - Cash in a beautiful Hallmark photo frame

So my ex-colleagues from Khattar Wong met up with me in what was supposedly a candlelight dinner with only the senior paralegal. Imagine my surprise when another colleague turned up and both surprised me with a birthday gift courtesy of the two of them and three others who were unable to meet up to spring said surprise on me.

Aside from the gift - tons of cash in a red photo frame, much like a dowry (as, I suspect, they playfully meant it to be), there was the dinner treat at Ramenten Restaurant at Far East Plaza, which had recently acquired its Halal status, and, of course, catching up and gossip. Tons of it.

Dinner was good (albeit a little common since I could get Halal ramen at any Banquet foodcourt; 'twas only the sushi and other rarities that thrilled). Company was, surprisingly, good. And the gift was definitely good. Good day? I'll say!
