Quit Being Such A Pain
]]
Hello, Miss! Can you please just collect your files from my area and quit bugging me with questions which answers you should have known eons ago? For the record, I am no longer in your team so just QUIT ASKING ME! In case you have not noticed, I have my own work to complete, you know?
Use your brain lah, use your brain! Now, if only I can say all that to her face. Monday, June 27, 2005

Help?
]]
It's about time I keep a guidebook - The Dummy's Guide To Getting Out Of Unwanted Dates/Gatherings. I tell you, it will be so useful for someone who never comes up with good excuses such as I. Then again, it is not like I need it very often anyway so I will get by.
I think. Thursday, June 23, 2005

Today, I Am Also...
]]
Happy and feeling extremely intelligent as I discussed with and advised my superior on the further course of action for a particular problem file. Thank you Mr Superior, your compliment has warmed me greatly, just as I was feeling a little insecure about my capacity as a Legal Executive.

Today I Am...
]]
Numb, because a former colleague passed away on Monday and although I never knew her well enough to strike a proper conversation save for "hello" and "goodbye", my heart aches nevertheless.
Glad, because I may have just saved a cousin's friend from having his insurers repudiate liability against him. Being in the legal line, equipped with (most of) the legal knowledge in the world, is rewarding like that. Tuesday, June 21, 2005

Taxi Drivers
]]
I interview the funniest and most dramatic taxi drivers sometimes. They truly make my day with their mannerisms that, to me, are rather out of this world.

I'm Sorry. WHAT?!
]]
Yes, blame me for that, why don't you? And while you are at it, blame me for every other mistake that happened to be your own too. If I did not respect you for guiding me during my stint at the other firm, I would have let you have a taste of that sarcasm I am (in)famous for; you have just been lucky so far.
Just one question - If you could remember Friend 1's birthday, why is it my fault that you forgot Friend 2's birthday? Because I did not remind you? Well, you sure as hell didn't need to get your arm twisted to remember Friend 1's birthday. And if you're trying to drive a wedge between Friend 2 and I, please, try harder. You do know that we are not as materialistic and hard up for birthday gifts as you probably are, right? To Friend 2, you know who you are. Thank you for that short chat we had just awhile ago. I was beginning to think that I was being a tad too petty on this issue but you convinced me otherwise. Yes, they are being a bunch of unreasonable somethings who actually do not deserve our niceness but still get it anyway because they are the ones who have seen us through crap when we were at the other firm. You never fail to make me feel better, you know? So thank you. Friday, June 17, 2005

Really, Really.
]]
So The Brother has been posted to Tekong for his eight months training stint as a sergeant (infantry leader?). It is back to ranting and raving for Big Sister as she, once again, gets to see her brother only once a week. Bleah.
On the other hand, this makes two sergeants in the family now - one in National Service and the other, in National Cadet Corps. Oh, how proud we should be. *ROLLS EYES* But yes, we are indeed proud at their achievements though we may complain quite a bit. Really, really. Sunday, June 12, 2005

Farez+Aysha; Husran+Netty
]]
This afternoon saw me attending two wedding functions, one of which is a polymate's (Aysha) and the other, a friend's brother's (Husran). Aysha, ordinarily lovely even without all that makeup, looked exceptionally gorgeous today; and that's putting it mildly. Probably the first time I had ever attended a wedding function held at the Big Splash, I enjoyed myself chatting with other polymates whom I had not met for eons. The photo-taking affair with the bride herself, though a tad too rushed and brief, was a meaningful one for me as I realised that the bride had made time out of her hectic schedule to chat and pose for pictures with us. The fact that we had placed ourselves so obviously in front of the dias with our cameras in hand was probably one of the reasons she obliged so readily. With a final though reluctant wave, she left for her costume change and we regretfully made our way out of the banquet hall so that we may make it in time for the next wedding function - Shah's brother's. Credits to Suzi for sending Geetha and I all the way to Admiralty Link in her cute motorcar where, along the way, a certain someone flirted with Mats on motorcycles. (No prizes for guessing who! Heh.) The next wedding function seemed to scream "simple yet charming" and it appealed to me greatly, although the rowdy Mats (no relation to the ones on the road that Geetha flirted with) intimidated me some. Yes, it has certainly been a fulfilling day of catching up, sinful food and, of course, laughter. Lots of them. Congratulations to both sets of newlyweds and may God bless your respective marriages. PS: Photographs taken for today's wedding functions have been uploaded here.

Adorable Tutee
]]
7th June 2005 marked the start of tuition sessions with a colleague's 9 year old son. And if this is going to be long term, her son may just end up without a cheek and/or skinny. I had to refrain myself several times from squeezing the little bugger despite sanctions from his own mother to do so. How she knew I would be so taken by him, I will never know.
Yan Kai, you are one adorable guy. I am going to eat you up if you continue being so. *BARES TEETH* Monday, June 06, 2005

I have infected the rest of the family with my germs. I now hear coughing and sneezing throughout the household. And this is when I had quarantined myself, too.

Fun and Laughter
]]
Babes of 4th June 2005 (L-R): Shah, Irdawathy and Geetha Yesterday was eventful, to say the least. Eventful in a good way, that is, for everything about our outhing spelt nothing but f-u-n a-n-d l-a-u-g-h-t-e-r (fun and laughter). And for once, "food" was not the main event as it usually was. Heh. Lunch. Movie: Cursed. Bubble Tea. Window shopping. Makeup tips. Photo-taking. Of course, there were teasings, catching up, gossips and laughter in between. I heart my girls loads [insert sloppy kiss here]. (Eugh, but awww! No?) More here. |
